It was a picture perfect summer night on August 14, 2025, as Tattersall Farm hosted the Grand Finale of its Farm-to-Table Summer Series, presented by Craft Haverhill. This annual event, which began in June and continued monthly through the summer, has quickly become a community favorite, blending local food, drink, music, and history into one unforgettable evening.
The Farm-to-Table series shines a spotlight on local Merrimack Valley and New England, giving small businesses a chance to share their creations with the community. Each month has featured a new lineup of craft breweries, cider makers, wineries, farms, and food participants, ensuring that no two nights are ever the same. The Grand Finale was no exception; it was lively, delicious, and filled with community spirit.
A Warm Welcome
Even before stepping foot into the event, guests were greeted with a sense of history. The parking lot features antique farming equipment from the original Tattersall homestead, lovingly restored and displayed for visitors to admire. These relics are a reminder of the farm’s deep agricultural roots, dating back to when the Tattersall family worked the land in the early 20th century.

Friendly volunteers welcomed attendees at check-in, offering popcorn and VIP bags to set the mood for a night of celebration. The energy was upbeat and inviting, and as soon as you walked toward the vendor hilltop, the buzz of excitement was undeniable.
Local Flavor, Local Pride

The vendor section was beautifully arranged atop a hill that overlooks Tattersall’s sweeping fields and forests. With the golden light of the setting sun casting across the farmland, the view itself was worth the trip but the tastes and experiences awaiting guests made it even more special.
One of the first vendors to catch attention was Bird Dog Cider of Greenland, New Hampshire. Their hard cider struck the perfect balance of crisp and refreshing, drawing a steady crowd eager for a summer sip.
Nearby, AstroRunner Mike provided a unique twist to the evening, offering guests a chance to safely view the sun through a telescope. Many attendees gathered to glimpse the fiery orb in striking clarity, adding an unexpected but memorable educational touch to the night.

Other beverage participants included:
• Far East Star Sake
• Twisted Fate Brewing
• Ipswich Ale Brewery
• Saltbox Cider
• Marzae Wine

On the food side, the variety was equally impressive. Guests sampled from Solid Slice, Damageua, La Pizza Di Forno, Late Bloom Farm, L’Arche Boston North, Craic Sauce, F-Word Farm, Lillooet, Old Wild Farm, and Nice Ice Baby. From wood-fired pizza to creamy mac and cheese, fresh farm produce to small-batch hot sauce, the options were endless and absolutely delicious.

Music, Atmosphere, and Community

Adding to the ambiance were live performances by Connor Milligan, Nate Perry, and Neal Ferreira, whose music created the perfect soundtrack to an already magical evening. Many attendees set up their own chairs and blankets, transforming the event into a relaxed picnic-style gathering under the stars.
There was a true sense of community neighbors mingling, small business owners sharing their stories, and families enjoying the simple pleasures of good food, drink, and music in a scenic outdoor setting.

The Beauty and History of Tattersall Farm
Tattersall Farm is one of Haverhill’s most cherished historic sites. Once the private homestead of the Tattersall family, the farm was left to the City of Haverhill as a gift in 1999 with the promise that it would remain a working farm and open space for future generations. Today, it stands as both a historical landmark and a recreational space for the community.
The farm spans over 150 acres of rolling meadows, woodlands, and wetlands. Visitors can stroll its trails year-round, taking in breathtaking views of the Merrimack Valley. In the summer, the fields are alive with wildflowers and crops, while in autumn the farm glows with vibrant foliage.

Tattersall is still very much a working farm. Depending on the season, visitors can see hay being cut and baled, vegetables and herbs grown in community plots, and fruit from the farm’s orchards. Apples, pumpkins, squash, tomatoes, and corn are just a few of the seasonal crops connected to the farm and its surrounding agricultural community. The land also supports pollinator gardens, making it a haven for bees and butterflies.
For history buffs, Tattersall offers a glimpse into Haverhill’s farming heritage. The original farmhouse and outbuildings, along with the antique farm equipment displayed near the event space, tell the story of the city’s agricultural past. For nature lovers, the farm is a peaceful retreat where you can walk trails, birdwatch, or simply take in a summer sunset that rivals any postcard.
A Perfect Ending

As the Grand Finale wrapped up, guests were treated to a breathtaking sunset over the fields, complete with a distant lightning show that lit up the sky in a dramatic and beautiful way to close out the series. It was a reminder of how special Tattersall Farm is, both as a historic landmark and as a gathering place for community events.
